The MGIMO School of Business and International Proficiency ranks third among business schools in Russia, according to the IX Narodny Ranking of Russian business schools.
July 12th, A. A. Abduvakhitov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan and Rector of University of World Economy and Diplomacy, paid a visit to MGIMO. During his visit, A. A. Abduvakhitov met with A. V. Malgin, Vice-Rector of MGIMO University, and attended the ceremony of closing the «International Journalism, Cultural Diplomacy and Public Relations» programme organized by the School of Business and International Proficiency for MA students from University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
July 2d saw the beginning of Summer School in Monaco organized by MGIMO and the International University of Monaco in two areas: International Marketing and Premium Services, and Investing in the 21st century.
The «International Journalism and Public Relations» programme has been launched.

June 22, MGIMO Rector A. V. Torkunov handed diplomas to the alumni of the School of Business and International Proficiency.
Kazan is the venue for the international educational forum FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy June 14-22, which brings together over a hundred leaders of the movement from 92 countries. MGIMO is represented by Ilya Andreev, «Sports Diplomacy» MA student.
In June, MGIMO and Loughborough University submitted a joint request to hold a series of international seminars on sports diplomacy to the British Council. The project was developed by Professor James Skinner (Great Britain) and Academic Advisor of the "Sports Diplomacy" MA Programme and MGIMO Associate Professor E.A.Ponomaryova.
May 28th saw the launch of the advanced training programme «Strategic Management in an Insurance Company» for the staff from Uzbekinvest National Export-Import Insurance Company.
May 28 marked the completion of an open country studies course «The State of Israel: History and Modernity», which is a MGIMO/Israel Institute in Washington joint project. The final lecture was given by Zvi Magen, Professor at the Institute for National Security Studies.

May 7th, Grégory Moscato, Director of Master degree programmes at the International University of Monaco, met with V. N. Tkachyov, Academic Advisor of the MBA «Financial Director» programme, and D. V. Yadernaya, Academic Advisor of the MBA «Fashion Management» programme, which is a joint programme between MGIMO University and the British Higher School of Design.

In March, MGIMO was honored to receive V. Vinitsky-Seroussi, Professor of Sociology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Lecturer at the Center for Cultural Sociology at Yale University. She delivered an open lecture to the students on country studies course entitled «The State of Israel: History and Modernity».
February 21st-26th, a delegation from MGIMO went to Baku while the visiting module of the MBA program «International Oil and Gas Business» of the School of Business and International Proficiency was unfolding in the same place.

September 15th, a working meeting of the Education Commission of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The Commission consisted of experts from Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, Portugal, and Russia with Elena Ponomaryova as its representative (Associate Professor of the Department of Management, Marketing and Foreign Trade and Supervisor of Master's degree programme "Sports Diplomacy").
Business-school graduates are not just committed and talented leaders, they are top managers of Russian and international companies, they own their own businesses and they are government employees and philanthropists. One of the SBIP’s «International Oil and Gas Business» graduates (2010-2012) T.H. Bidgiev shared with us his experience from his years of studying at the School of Business and his accomplishments after receiving his MBA degree.
As part of the cooperation agreement, The School of Business and International Proficiency in partnership with the International University of Monaco will conduct a site visit overseas module in Monaco for its MBA students.
April 13th, a solemn ceremony unfolded at MGIMO during which the University was awarded a certificate from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) for its MBA program «Corporate Director».
12-13 April, the "Otkritie Arena" stadium hosted a MarSpo-2017 Sports Marketing International Conference. The event brought together MGIMO professors, students and graduates to take part in thematic discussion panels.
Beginning from August 2016 the MGIMO School of Business and International Proficiencies has been undergoing the process of accreditation at the Association of МВА’s.

21 September, a group of Babson College (USA) students visited MGIMO University. This was a part of the cooperation program between MGIMO School of Business and International Proficiency and Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE).
Coursera is the largest platform for online learning which offers courses from the most prestigious universities in the world. Earlier this year, MGIMO signed an agreement with Coursera on its participation in the project.
