The School of International Economic Relations, with the support of MGIMO’s School of Business and International Proficiency, has recently launched on Coursera its first specialization in "World Economy" created by the Department of World Economy.
Following the successful reaccreditation Association of MBAs (АМВА), a MGIMO School of Business and International Proficiency programme profile was set up on the Association site: МВА and Executive MBA.
March 4th, the international agency QS published the latest edition of its subject ratings called “QS University Rankings: By Subject”. This year, QS experts considered 1369 universities from 158 countries and their performance in 48 narrow and five broad scientific categories. MGIMO was in the top 100 for “Politics and International Relations” and in the list of the best performers for “Jurisprudence”.
March 3rd, MGIMO welcomed a Coursera delegation comprising its Director for European and Russian Development Nayeli Wild, the Deputy Director for Cooperation with Universities Anthony Hackney and the Deputy Director for Industry Partnerships Mallika Nallani, for a meeting on future cooperation.
February 28th - March 2nd, students of MGIMO and the British Higher School of Art and Design specialized in “Strategic Marketing and Management” and “Management in the Fashion Industry” went in the framework of their Fashion Week in Paris module abroad, on a visit of the historic Guerlain Fashion House, one of the main brands of the largest luxury conglomerate in the industry: LVMH.
February 28th-March 1st, MGIMO participated in the international educational fair Skola 2020 in Riga. The University was represented at the event by its Press Secretary V.Kalashnikova and the Manager for the development of the Alumni Association E.Mikhalochkina.
February 27th, the introductory presentation on digital technologies and digital transformation for the “Digital Economy” MBA students of the MGIMO-MIPT joint programme was again held by IMB experts. IBM is the world’s largest IT employer. The guests learnt about the latest achievements in AI, cloud technologies and information security.
February 25th, the exhibition "International Education" unfolded in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). MGIMO was represented at the event by the Deputy Director of the School of Business and International Proficiency O.Malgina and the representative of the MGIMO branch in Tashkent Sh.Umarova.
February 22nd, MGIMO participated in the «International Education» fair in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan). The event attracted administrators and faculty members of language institutes and universities from all over the world including Kazakhstan, the USA, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Europe and Asia.
February 20th, AMBA expert E.V.Zubkova and RABE General Director N.A.Evtikhieva handed AMBA international accreditation certificates (Association of MBAs, UK) at the Russian Association for Business Education Council meeting.

MGIMO presents a new course in English based on the Coursera platform - “Bases of the law of obligations (The Russian Federation). Part 2” developed by A. Shashkova, Professor of the Constitutional Law Department.
On January 23, second-year students studying in the joint MGIMO-BHSD Fashion Management MBA programme visited Ivanovo. They visited a number of factories to learn about the production technologies and management of the sewing shop, including “Valenti”, one of the most modern sewing enterprises in Russia which specializes in suits for men (the most difficult category for manufacturing).

On January 16, a Presidium meeting of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programmes was held on the margins of the Gaidar Forum. During the meeting, First Deputy Chair of the State Duma, Chair of the ACBSP Presidium A.D.Zhukov presented certificates of ACBSP independent experts to those who had completed studies and successfully passed the exams.
On December 20, students from the US leading Universities completed their internship in the “Business and International Relations” programme as part of the cooperation agreement between the School of Business and International Proficiency and the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE).

13 December saw the launch of the MGIMO-ADA joint “Finance” MBA Programme in Baku. The Programme starts in September 2020 and will be implemented in two universities – in Baku and Moscow.
December 9th, the first foreign branch of the University, MGIMO-Tashkent, was officially inaugurated.
29 November saw the ceremony of awarding certificates to the students of the MGIMO-UNITAR advanced skills programme for diplomats and public servants.
On 25 November, Professor at the University of Helsinki Arto S. Mustajoki gave a lecture to foreign language professors and lecturers as part of the advanced skills programme for the MGIMO faculty. The lecture was entitled “Effective Communication in a Foreign Language as a Way to Train Specialists in International Relations”.
On 22 November, Executive MBA students visited the special economic zone “Dubna”. They were accompanied by A.V.Shashkova, the academic advisor of the Programme.
21-22 November, the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programmes held a seminar to train independent experts to participate in the procedure of professional and public accreditation of further vocational education programmes.
MGIMO School of Business and International Proficiency is holding a graduation thesis defence with "Sports Diplomacy" MA students.
On 14 October, the students of the joint MGIMO – MIPT Digital Economy MBA Programne visited Sberbank Agile Home where they studied cutting-edge technologies in developing innovative services, learnt about the peculiarities of agile transformation and Sberbank information systems. The students also learnt about the impact of innovative technologies on the activity of one of the leading international financial institutions.
