The interview with Coursera representatives was attended on MGIMO’s side by the Deputy Directors of the School of Business and International Proficiency E.Glazov and V.Yagubyants, the Academic Director of the MBA program “Economics and Management in International Business” L.Yunusov and the Coordinator for International Cooperation and Accreditation O.Fomina.
The sides spoke about the increasing relevance of online education in the world, underlining that some of the most sought after areas were big data, the digital economy, healthcare and engineering.
The meeting participants also separately reviewed the possibility of creating a blended-MBA program at the School of Business and International Proficiency. They discussed how to launch such programs on the Coursera educational platform and assessed the prospects for its implementation.
Coursera’s Director for European and Russian Development Nayeli Wild gave a talk on the new Coursera for Business and the Coursera + pilot project, which for a monthly fee offers those who complete the course an academic certificate.
Coursera is the largest online educational platform globally, with an audience of over 46 million people. MGIMO began its cooperation with Coursera in 2016, with the signing of a partnership agreement. The Coursera platform currently offers 13 MGIMO courses and one specialization created by MGIMO faculty and which all are extremely popular among students.
