March 19th, Gad Yair, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Sociology & Anthropology Department Faculty Member delivered a lecture as part of the open cross-cultural course "The State of Israel: history and modernity" which is a MGIMO/Israel Institute in Washington joint project”.

March 19th, Gad Yair, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Sociology & Anthropology Department Faculty Member delivered a lecture as part of the open cross-cultural course "The State of Israel: history and modernity" which is a MGIMO/Israel Institute in Washington joint project”.

Gad Yair opened the third day of the educational programme with his lecture "Public policy and technological innovations of the State of Israel". The lecture focused on the link between public policy and technological innovations with the latter being an essential element to any developing economy. The lecturer considered in detail various social aspects that drive Israeli entrepreneurial activity forward. The audience looked into different innovations in the country, governance and incentive system through public policy as well as into key developments, scientific theories that are connected to sources of innovations, their promotion and suppressing, and success factors in innovation activities.

The lecturer also met with S.Vasiliev, Head of the Odintsovo Branch of MGIMO University, A.Mirzoeva, Director of the School of Business and International Proficiency, and T.Alekseeva, Head of the Political Theory Department.

The event was attended by BA students enrolled in the "International Business and Innovation Management"programme from the Odintsovo Branch of MGIMO Universityas well as other MGIMO and non-MGIMO students.

The educational course "The State of Israel: history and modernity" is sponsored by the School of Business and International Proficiency and the Embassy of Israel in Russia. The course will last until May with the next lectures scheduled for April 9 and 16. The experts will speak about Israel’s strategic thinking and Israel’s national security challenges.
