The Russian-French "Trianon Dialogue" forum of civil societies developed its first educational course "Environmental Responsibility of Business", which has recently been uploaded on Coursera. The course was jointly created by the EcoCenter "Zapovedniki" and MGIMO’s School of Business and International Proficiency.
The Russian-French "Trianon Dialogue" forum of civil societies developed its first educational course "Environmental Responsibility of Business", which has recently been uploaded on Coursera. The course was jointly created by the EcoCenter "Zapovedniki" and MGIMO’s School of Business and International Proficiency.
The course presents a comprehensive overview of how to introduce sustainable development practices into business processes and offers a new perspective on the social and environmental requirements to do business in line with emerging international trends.
The program of the course comprises four modules:
1. "Paths to sustainable development." The module analyses the main trends and demands of modern society in the sphere of sustainable development.
2. "Environmental education". The module conveys information on how to promote good environmental habits among employees and how national parks can be used in environmental education.
3. "Volunteering in a new environment." The module reveals some best practices in organizing volunteer activities within companies.
4. "Non-financial reporting". The final module presents materials on current trends in the field of non-financial reporting.
A number of speakers contributed to the course including M.Babenko, Director of the Green Economy Program of WWF Russia, the President of the Zapovednoye Embassy Foundation, curator of the Russian pavilion at the World Conservation Congress in Marseille, N.Danilina, the Program Director of the Project Office for Strategies and Practices of Sustainable Development S.Gerasimova, the General Director of the Lake Baikal Foundation A.Tsvetkova, the Director of Corporate Relations at UPM Russia N.Malashenko, the Director of the Corporate Governance and Sustainable Development Department of FBK Grant Thornton V.Skobarev, the Regional Director of Green Project Management in Russia and the CIS O.Klimenko, the Development Director of the ‘Zapovedne Embassy’ Foundation K.Gasparyan, the Head of the ‘Burunduk’ Volunteer Center V.Kosmatova and the Head of CSR and Sustainable Development at the EcoCenter ‘Zapovedniki’ Y.Vereshchak.
The course targets a wide audience: corporate managers, experts working in the field of corporate social responsibility and social policy, heads of associations of corporate volunteers, employees in public relations and human resources departments, NGOs. The course is also designed for students specialized in HR management, PR management and ecology studies.
