On May 13th, within the country studies course «Modern Israel», which is a MGIMO/Israel Institute in Washington joint project, Professor of Bar-Ilan University Larissa Remennik delivered a lecture to the students of the University.
On May 13th, within the country studies course «Modern Israel», which is a MGIMO/Israel Institute in Washington joint project, Professor of Bar-Ilan University Larissa Remennik delivered a lecture to the students of the University.
Larissa Remennik is a well-known Israeli sociologist, Professor of Bar-Ilan University. Prof. Remennik has been studying processes of professional and social integration of Russian-speaking repatriates and their children, who grew up in Israel.
In her lecture L. Remennik focused on different aspects of economic, social and cultural integration of repatriates from the former Soviet Union, who came to Israel in the 1990s. She spoke about the engagement of immigrants from the former Soviet Union in the political and social life of Israel, tensions and tolerance, common interest and cultural differences between Russians and Israelis.
