Following the MGIMO alumni meeting in Dubai on January 30, MGIMO University conducted a series of strategic meetings in the UAE.
On February 3, MGIMO and the University of Sharjah signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at exchanging expertise, expanding education and research cooperation, and developing joint academic programs.
The Memorandum was officially signed by Artem Malgin, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development, and Yousef Haik, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Sharjah. The signing ceremony was attended by Abdelaziz Soufyane, Director of the International Relations Office, and Asmaa Awad, Director of the Language Institute of the University of Sharjah.
The agreement was signed at the initiative of the School of Linguistics and Cross-Cultural Communication at MGIMO. The first MGIMO students studying Arabic will participate in an exchange program at the University of Sharjah this spring. The Memorandum aims to foster joint educational and research programs, student and faculty exchanges in related academic fields, and joint conferences, symposiums, and workshops, including those in the fields of tourism, linguistics, and cross-cultural communication.
Dr. Yousef Haik emphasized the importance of partnerships with MGIMO and other international academic institutions, noting their role in promoting knowledge exchange, improving the quality of higher education programs, and upholding academic excellence.
Later that day, another meeting on cooperation in technological leadership was held at Superior University in Ras Al Khaimah. Meetings were held with the Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives of the Ras Al Khaimah Free Zone, and officials from the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge.
