Goranka Horjan is CEO of the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb with a huge experience in EU projects focusing on renovation and refurbishment of museums. Her major field is museology with the focus on management and strategic planning.
The lecture focused on the concept of leadership in non-profit organizations. This is a complex and demanding task for professionals working as managers in the field of culture and art. Leaders find themselves in situations where they have to constantly respond to global drivers of change such as demographics, migration and inequality, climate change, and now the socio-economic impact of COVID-19, which threaten the financial sustainability of cultural institutions and, in some cases, even their very existence.
During the lecture, the audience learned about how leaders are trying to grasp these new realities of today and build a vision for the future at the time when their leadership abilities in the current crisis are being seriously tested.
This lecture course will continue! We are looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming events.
