The Moscow module of the МВА «Finance» double degree programme of MGIMO and ADA University (Azerbaijan) has been completed for the second-year students.
As part of the module, students studied current financial instruments, Islamic and corporate finance, investment strategies and risk management, they worked on group projects and analyzed real cases, visited the offices of PJSC Sberbank and LLC MC Alfa Capital.
MGIMO professors and leading experts in the financial and banking sector, including I.B.Turuev, First Vice-President of Gazprombank, B.B.Gurbanzadeh, Advisor to the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank PJSC, L.V.Siyanova, Project Manager of the Problem Assets Department, G.I.Penikas, Project Manager at the Department of Research and Forecasting of the Bank of Russia, A.A.Alyoshin, expert of the Academy “Trust Technologies”, E.Ilyasov, Client Relationship Director of Alfa Capital, as well as V.N.Tkachev, Academic Director of the program, and E.V.Pogrebnyak, Dean of the Financial Economics Department, spoke about the current state of the banking and financial sectors in the context of global changes and challenges facing the world. The experts emphasized that in the current conditions of instability in financial markets and economic fluctuations many financial institutions are adapting their new strategies to remain competitive. Analyzing the current situation, experts noted that the key factors are digitalization and innovative technologies, which have a significant impact on the structure of the banking sector.
Training for the students will continue in Baku where they will start working on their graduation projects related to the functioning of the banking sector of the two countries.
