On December 2, the students of the MBA Finance double degree programme of MGIMO and ADA University (Azerbaijan) started their Moscow modul. Vasily N. Tkachev, the Academic Advisor of the program, gave a welcoming speech to the students.

V.Tkachev welcomed the students of the joint MBA and spoke about the advantages of the double degree programme with ADA University, about the prolific cooperation between MGIMO and one of the leading universities of Azerbaijan. V.Tkachev went on to introduce the students to the School of Business and International Proficiency, the organization of the educational process at MGIMO, the structure of the University, and the courses of study which the students are going to learn.

The second-year students will visit some of the leading Russian companies in the field of finance and banking, they will analyze actual business cases from leading experts of the Central Bank of Russia, Sberbank PJSC, Gazmrombank PJSC, Alfa Capital Management Company LLC.

Some of the top managers of the banking and financial sector of Azerbaijan are the participants of the programme. By the end of the training the students will possess a set of practical tools and in-depth knowledge in the field of corporate finance, investments, application of digital technologies in banking, audit, analysis of risk assets, securities portfolio formation, principles of Islamic finance, private equity, business valuation and corporate restructuring.

This unique programme of MGIMO and ADA University MBA «Finance» has been implemented since 2019 aiming to train highly professional leaders in the financial sphere, banking structures and top managers of the commodity industry.

As part of the Moscow modules, students of the programme study specialization disciplines, including corporate and digital finance, Islamic finance, FinTech, internal control, audit and compliance, investment management and risk management, corporate restructuring, private property management and others. The teaching language is English and the educational modules are held in both Moscow and Baku.

Among the graduates of the programme there are analysts, financial directors, top managers of some of the largest Azerbaijani companies, business owners, heads of banking departments, government agencies and various business sectors.
