The «Management in the fashion industry» program is implemented jointly with the British Higher School of Design. Student in the “Management in the Fashion Industry” program will both master the technologies, techniques and mechanisms that facilitate an effective design and learn to manage the business processes and organization of the fashion industry.

The effective management of a company operating in the field of design and the fashion industry requires an understanding of both the trends of modern fashion and the strategy of business development. Student in the “Management in the Fashion Industry” programme will both master the technologies, techniques and mechanisms that facilitate an effective design and learn to manage the business processes and organization of the fashion industry.

The «Management in the fashion industry» programme is implemented jointly with the British Higher School of Design.

The MBA programme «Management in the Fashion Industry» is a unique combination of methodology and classical approach to MBA education here at MGIMO, practical experience and creative approach, as well as the atmosphere of entrepreneurship of the British Higher School of Design.

The Programme is designed for a wide range of students. It will improve the skills and provide a theoretical foundation for those already working in the fashion industry -- fashion industry specialists, mid and top-level managers, business owners, textile distributors, retailers, designers, stylists, image-makers, journalists, fashion houses, and personal shoppers. Those new to the fashion industry will learn the history and trends of modern fashion, understand what makes up an individual style and how business fashion is built in Russia and abroad. The training will also fit specialist retraining from related industries who wish to switch their primary activity to the fashion industry.

Specialization module leader — Daria Yadernaya, CEO of the international consulting company in the fashion industry Y Consulting, member of the Presidium of the Russian Chamber of Fashion. Since 2010, she has been managing the development of the Anton Heunis brand in Russia and the CIS. From 2013 to 2016, she was involved in the regional development of the Thierry Lasry brand. In 2014 and 2015, she led the business programme of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Russia.

Certificate of Education

Students who successfully complete the MBA Programme will receive a Master of Business Administration  degree with a specialization in “Management in the Fashion Industry.”

Programme cost — 1,200,000 RUB for the entire period of study. Payment is made by semester.

Programme format — weekend-format (20 months) — once per month (Thursday through Sunday 9:30 – 20:00)

Admission requirements:

  • Higher education degree
  • At least 25 years of age
  • At least 3 years of working experience
  • Applicant must have a leadership potential and a strong motivation to learn

Selection process for the MBA programme

Stage 1

  • Registration
  • Motivational letter
  • Essay on a given topic

Stage 2

  • Solving of a business-case
  • Testing of English language skills

Stage 3

  • Interview with the supervisor of the programme
  • Enrollment decision

Selection Date and Start of the Programme. Group formation terminates 2 weeks before the start of the training.
